Rosacea Treatment

Rosacea

This is a chronic skin condition that mainly affects the face. It causes redness, visible redness, and sometimes acne-like bumps. This is most common in adults ages 30-50 but it can affect anyone. The exact cause isn't known but it is thought to involve an overactive immune system, genetic factors, spicy foods, alcohol, stress, or extreme temperatures.

Treatment

While there is no cure for Rosacea we at Average Dermatology offer many treatments to help. Applying sunscreen daily, gentle skincare, avoiding harsh scrubs, and identifying foods that can make the rosacea worse are important lifestyle changes that could help keep it under good control. Topical treatments or antibiotics could be prescribed to reduce redness and bumps. If you have any questions or think you have rosacea, schedule an appointment with us to take a look!
